Holiday Taxis
Holiday taxis offer a similar service to Resort Hoppa, their prices are based on the type of vehicle which is used. Again it depends on the size of your group as to how much money you may save; take a look at their booking system to see how you fare. They also offer a premier service for any one who wishes to travel in luxury. Holiday Taxis are also taking a ‘greener’ stance regarding vehicle emissions; this allows you to off set your carbon footprint for a small fee.

The highlights of Bilbao is situated in the old quarter known as Siete Calles and a number of wide boulevards that date back to the 19th century when it was rebuilt after the devastating floods in 1983 and is now a very up market shopping district including bars, restaurants and buzzing night clubs.
The old quarter also houses the Santiago Cathedral, this church was a stop for pilgrims in 1379 but fire destroyed it in 1571. It was then rebuilt. The most interesting square in that area is the 64 arch playa Nueva where a street market is pitched every Sunday morning, close to this market place you will find the Cities hall which was built in 1892.
Bilbao has some beautiful scenery especially from the Basilica de Begona which is a huge church which was built in 1519. This is the spot where the Virgin Mary was supposedly seen long ago. Bilbao is famous for its many museums housing many Spanish and Italian artists’ art works.
Many of the residents of Bilbao have left to go to Madrid to escape the heavy tax living costs and bills. Bilbao has recently undergone a major facelift on their metro system, with its distinctive glazed station entrance, a new footbridge and a new airport terminal.
The city is an excellent base for exploring the Basque country with Vitoria Gasteiz 43 miles to the South Donostisa San Sebastian to the East and Santander 63 miles to the East which is extremely famous for its fresh sardines.
Bilbao’s main festival is in August and is called Semana Grande with bull fighting, basque pelota championships and other events. The street signs are in Spanish and Basque which is easier to understand if you are not able to speak Spanish.
Bilbao is one of the best Spanish cities for food and wine, they have a wide variety of produce including fish, meat and local cider.
