Murcia Open Tennis returns
Those who fancy seeing and playing a bit of tennis in lovely warm conditions can do so in La Manga in December.

While northern Europe shivers, those who come down to Spain to enjoy the mild winter weather can immerse themselves in the sixth Murcia Open Tennis Tournament, which will take place in the resort's 28-court Tennis centre and feature a wide range of age groups, starting with the over-35s and going up to the over 75s.

An official ITF seniors tournament with ranking points and prize money, the event will feature both singles and doubles tennis.

When not enjoying the whacking of yellow balls around indoors, sport lovers at the La Manga resort can enjoy playing with balls of all sizes, shapes and colours.

British holidaymakers 'flock' to Spain
UK holidaymakers have been hailed as the "heroes" of Spanish tourism, after official figures indicated that Brits still have a soft spot for the country.

Euro Weekly news reported that 65 per cent of people visiting Spain this year were British, with tourism bosses claiming that British holidaymakers have been "saviours".

Although tourism on the whole is down slightly on last year, the publication reported that the decline has not been too severe thanks to the loyalty of British visitors.

Furthermore, it seems that Britain's love affair with Spain is set to continue throughout the half-term holidays, with millions of people expected to jet off in search of warmer climes.
