Holidaymakers taking a break at La Manga Club this summer will have the chance to take a dip in the Mar Menor – Spain's largest saltwater lagoon.

Also known as the Little Sea, it attracts sailing enthusiasts from across the globe due to the constant breeze and shallow, calm waters.

The Mar Menor is around six degrees C warmer than the surrounding Mediterranean Sea, making it ideal for families with young children.

Holidaymakers can enjoy a host of water-based activities there, including jet-skiing, kayaking, dinghy sailing, swimming and windsurfing.

Ryanair launches flight sale

Budget airline Ryanair has launched a new summer seat sale.

People planning to book flights to Spain in the near future may be interested to learn that the carrier will release one million discounted seats at midnight tonight (May 24th 2010).

Fares start from £8 for travel on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays throughout June.

Ryanair spokesman Stephen McNamara commented: "Only Ryanair sells Europe's lowest fares with a no fuel surcharge guarantee.

The majority of holidaymakers would consider taking out insurance against a natural disaster following the recent volcanic eruption in Iceland.

Research carried out by Holiday Extras revealed that 73 per cent of people would think about purchasing protection.

The survey found that almost three-quarters of travellers usually buy insurance at least a month before their trip.

A further six per cent purchase cover between two and six days before their break, while one per cent leave it until the day before their departure.

Confusion over bank charges and transaction fees leaves many young holidaymakers short on cash, new research has revealed.

A recent study carried out by Opinion Matters on behalf of EZ Pay revealed that 13 million people have been stuck with no money during holidays to Spain and other destinations.

This problem has affected 50 per cent of people between the ages of 25 and 34.

Furthermore, a quarter of 35 to 44-year-olds admitted that they have called their parents to ask for an emergency money transfer in the past.
