Research carried out by the Institute of Payroll Professionals found that 38 per cent of people did not use their full annual leave entitlement last year.
However, the poll showed that 81 per cent of individuals expect to use all of their holidays in 2010.
According to the survey, almost a third of employees did not have more than one break away from work last year.
