Spanish golf holidays 'increasingly popular with Americans' 08th May 2008
Excellent facilities for golfing holidays in Spain have been cited as one of the reasons behind a swell of interest in Spanish holidays from US tourists.

The number of US tourists taking holidays in Spain has increased 20 per cent in 2008, which is partly down to an increased awareness of the world-class golfing holidays available in the country, according to PGAtour.com.

Spain has over 300 golf courses, while 27 of Continental Europe's Top 100 Golf Courses can also be found in the country and in neighbouring Portugal.

Abta defends the use of travel guides on Spanish holidays 07th May 2008
Travellers seeking information about where to go and visit on their Spanish holiday should not be put off travel books following recent revelations, it has been claimed.

A recent book by Thomas Kohnstamm, entitled Do Travel Writers Go to Hell?, has alleged that travel writers often 'run roughshod' over details, however, the Associated Board of Travel Agents (Abta) believes they are still a useful tool.

Spokesperson for Abta Sean Tipton states: "I think they have been a great help and a boon to the travel industry and travellers in general.

"Of course, mistakes will creep [in] - the very nature of any publication means that it
can become out-of-date very quickly, things can change.

their holidays."

"People with younger children are starting to travel as well and self-catering overseas is certainly an attractive option for them," they added.

Take the plunge on a holiday at La Manga Club 02nd May 2008
With unpredictable UK weather always a concern why not take the plunge and opt for a holiday at La Manga Club which averages more than 300 days of sunshine a year thanks to its situation on the Costa Calida.

Unlike a holiday on the UK coast at this time of the year, where only the brave of heart and those with access to wet suits are likely to test the waters, La Manga Club is located between two seas – including the gentle lagoon of the Mar Menor – where the water is on average six degrees warmer than that of the Mediterranean.

A short walk from La Manga Club resort there are many water-based activities you can enjoy as you cool off on a holiday at La Manga Club.

Sailing on the Mar Menor is a popular pastime thanks to shallow waters and gentle winds.
