 UK motorists are being advised to take a number of precautions before heading off on Spanish holidays.
The Daily Mail has published a list of things the UK driver needs to take into account when driving on the continent, including checking with insurers as to whether they are fully covered to drive overseas.
Also, drivers are advised to make sure you are carrying the correct documentation with them whilst driving as being stopped without the proper papers could be hazardous.
Making sure home contents insurance covers belongings when they are in the vehicle abroad is also recommended, in case the car is broken into.

Spanish holidays 'best for golfers' |

 Holidaymakers are being advised that a Spanish holiday could yield some of the best golfing experiences in Europe, according to one newspaper.
Spain offers six full courses in its Almeria region alone with six more currently in the planning stage and it is fast gaining a reputation for variety among golf lovers with courses for all levels, according to Independent Online.
Murcia, the newspaper claims, has been cited as a region that has not been greatly affected by any slowing down in the country's economy.
Bridget Rosser, of the Almanzora Group, said: "Spain has the best infrastructure of anywhere in Europe and it's only two and a half hours from the UK.

 Budding golf stars may be keen to book a Spanish holiday in La Manga following the recent news that the sport could soon be contested at the Olympic Games.
Last week, leaders of the European and US golf tours held talks with the head of the International Olympic Committee, Jacques Rogge, to discuss bringing golf back to the games in time for the 2016 tournament.
A strong lobby is coming from many of the minor tours the European Tour represents across the continent, who want golf to become an Olympic sport because of the increased funding they would receive, industry insiders told CBC.ca.

 Brits taking a Spanish holiday to play golf or tennis at La Manga Club would be well advised to check their travel documents are up to date, following new advice.
In response to reports that approximately three million European Health Insurance Cards (EHICs) will expire before the peak holiday season kicks in, the UK's Department of Health has warned travelers to make sure they are properly covered.

 Bargain-hunting Brits have been advised to book themselves a Spanish holiday this year, following research rating the destination as the best for those of a budget.
With an increasing number of people keeping an eye on the purse strings due to the credit crunch, news of Spanish holidays representing excellent value for money will be music to the ears of those unwilling to sacrifice their dream holiday, the Mirror reports.
Spanish holidays were found to be the cheapest short-haul option for Brits by the research, which showed that holiday essentials such as food and drinks could be up to £200 per week less expensive in Spain than in Italy, Turkey, Greece and the Algarve.
Further good news for cost-cutters is that car rental in Murcia may also prove a money-saving choice, with the research showing that car rental in Spain is on average £100 per week cheaper than in rival destination Greece.

 Spanish holidays have been revealed as the top choice for British tourists travelling abroad on bank holiday weekend.
Approximately 1.9 million tourists will be packing out Spanish holiday destinations, according to figures from the Association of British Travel Agents (Abta), including those heading for golf or tennis excursions in the sun.

 A future in the city beckons for one young golfer but, before he picks up his briefcase and heads off into the metropolis, he is insistent on having one last long golf holiday.
In fact, New Zealander James Gill is hoping that the holiday may even turn into a career as he finishes off a university course in Scotland.
The youngster has just picked up a master's in finance at St Andrews University but is putting the prospect of a lucrative job on hold while he pursues his dream.
"Having my degree should take a lot of pressure off me in the next four-five or more years.

Sons and daughters might even find that they are the match of their parents after a spell of training as part of the new Active Kids package.
The Hyatt Regency La Manga has just launched the seven-night Spanish holiday deal, offering tuition in not just tennis and golf but also kite surfing, TTG reports.
Available during July and August, the scheme comes on the back of customer feedback which found that a majority of children would enjoy golf, tennis and other sports during their Spanish holiday.

 The popularity of golfholidays in Spain is causing many investors to purchase holiday homes near golf courses, it has been claimed.
Southern Spain has long been a favourite Spanish holiday destination, but the added attraction of world-class golf resorts, such as La Manga Club, is persuading an increasing number of enthusiasts to make their trip more permanent, according to Forbes.
Realtor Kristina Szekely is quoted by the publication as saying: "People love southern Spain because we have got everything here.
"We have got all the big shops, fabulous weather and some of the world's best golf courses.
