In-flight mobile phone use could soon come in onboard aircraft, one commentator has suggested.

According to the Air Transport Users Council (AUC), following approval that was granted by Ofcom this week for in-flight mobile phone usage on aeroplanes, passengers can soon expect to be able to use their mobiles to call home while on flights to Spain.

However, industry affairs manager James Fremantle noted that not all passengers would appreciate in-flight calls.

According to the Association of British Travel Agents (Abta), overseas festivals not only offer Britons the better weather that is guaranteed on most Spanish holidays, but tickets are often cheaper and easier to get hold of.

Abta spokesperson Sean Tipton added that the Benicassim Festival in Spain is accessible from "stunning" nearby cities and is also close to fabulous beaches.

"With flights to Europe being at an all-time low, the savings you can make on the ticket costs will usually pay for the cost of your flight and your food and drinks whilst you are at the festival," commented Mr Tipton.
