 People planning to book holidays in Spain over the coming year can save money by using a prepaid currency card.
That is according to Donald Strachan, who recently claimed in the Telegraph that the cards are a simple, safe and secure option for holidaymakers.
"This new breed of plastic combines the budgeting advantage of travellers' cheques with the flexibility and security of a credit card," he commented.
In general, travellers who use currency cards can expect to save around ten per cent, compared to those who purchase their euros at a bank or airport.

 Holidays in Spain are likely to be on the agenda for many Brits this year, it has been suggested.
Writing for the Daily Telegraph, Frank Mawer said that the country suffered last year as a result of currency exchange rates.
However, he noted that tour operators are keen to boost tourist numbers this year and are offering some excellent deals on flights to Spain and packages.
"Spanish holidays this summer may in fact work out less expensive than in a rival destination outside the Eurozone thought of as cheaper," he commented.

Airport hotels 'see bookings increase' |

 Brits booking flights to Spain may be interested to learn that many of the country's airport hotels saw a significant surge in bookings during the recent cold snap, it has been revealed.
According to HolidayExtras.com, thousands of travellers were unwilling to take chances with the traffic and opted to stay close to the airport.
During the peak of the severe weather, some hotels saw up to a 68 per cent increase in reservations, compared to the same period in 2008.
