Recently, the Association of British Travel Agents reported that a rise in winter holiday bookings was prompted by the bad English weather seen in summer 2007.
The comment was followed by news from insurance provider esure that more than 15 million Brits are looking to book a holiday this month in order to capitalise on the sale period.
Brits are being advised to check the weather forecast before booking their flights to La Manga and other destinations.
According to esure, UK consumers should make an effort to research any weather patterns in the location they are travelling to prior to committing to a holiday.
The comment comes as esure reveals that more than 15 million Brits are looking to book a holiday in January during the sale period.
"Most people love to jump on the bandwagon of the January sales season.

The bird population in the south of Alicante is currently thriving, according to the latest study.
Research conducted by the regional department of the environment has found that nearly 15,000 birds have reproduced in the province's wetlands during last year, reports Costa Blanca News.
Many of the region's birds have been studied in the annual census and the director-general of environmental management at the department Maria Angeles Centeno, described the area as an "indispensable triangle" for the reproduction of birds.
Those taking flights to Alicante may even spot a white-headed duck or a marbled duck on their travels as the wetlands are now home to the largest population of the feathered-friends in Europe, the study reveals.
