Spanish Civil War relic discovered off Alicante coast |

A bomb thought to date back to the Spanish Civil War has been discovered off the coast of Alicante, it has been reported.
Typically Spanish reports that the civil war relic measures a metre in length and 40 centimetres in width and is believed to have dropped from a plane without detonating around 70 years ago.
The Spanish Civil War was a major conflict that occurred in Spain following an attempted coup by parts of the army against the government in the 1930s.
According to Typically Spanish, sources believe that the bomb's explosive components may still be intact.

Meeting children 'high point of Spanish holidays' |

The highlight of one family's Spanish holiday last year was meeting Spanish children, one commentator has revealed.
Relating the story of Norfolk couple Richard and Sarah Gorrod and their children Will, Katie and George, the Telegraph notes that on their family holiday in Spain on the Costa Brava, the best parts were eating paella and mixing with local children.
"I'm learning Spanish at school, so it was good to practise the language last summer - and I liked eating out and the weather," 13-year-old Katie told the publication.
Meanwhile, Will, aged 16, described the Spanish holiday as "really laid-back".

Missed connections 'cause inconvenience' |

A new report is being published today entitled Missed Connections that aims to inform passengers and holidaymakers on the pitfalls that can crop up in regards to connecting flights.
The Air Transport Users Council (AUC) notes that missed connections between flights can result in added expense, stress and inconvenience for travellers.
The comment from the council arrives following complaints from customers who arranged their own travel itineraries.
"Despite airlines encouraging passengers to take connecting services, not all airlines will commit to looking after their customers should they miss a connection," AUC chairman Tina Tietjen commented.

According to PayPal, romantic Britons have declared that their perfect Valentine's Day gift would be a weekend away.
The study showed that 27 per cent of starry eyed UK consumers hope to be booked flights to Spain and other destinations, while the same amount also wish to be given a surprise.
"It's nice to see that Brits really are hopeless romantics, who don't want to just be dazzled by expensive chocolates and flashy gifts on Valentines Day.

Amorous Britons tempted to take their loved ones away for Valentine's Day have been advised that Spanish holidays are the most romantic.
According to Teletext Holidays, Barcelona is the top romantic hotspot, beating competition from Florence, Paris, Prague, Venice, Rome and even New York.
Meanwhile, Madrid was also listed as a popular romantic getaway for Brits, with 27 per cent of holidaymakers reporting a loved-up vacation, compared to 46 per cent of Brits citing Barcelona as the number one.
"The key to a successful romantic trip is preparation - spend time online researching your trip before you go away and speak to friends and colleagues about their experiences to ensure that you make the best of your destination," commented Matt Cheevers, managing director of Teletext Holidays.

A British family who won £6.9 million on the lottery have splashed out on a holiday to a popular Spanish holiday resort.
The Daily Mail reports that the Prance family from Wales bought three luxury caravans at the Trecco Bay caravan park in Porthcawl, South Wales before taking flights to Spain for a luxury Spanish holiday.
According to the publication, jetting off on a family holiday in Spain to the resort of Benidorm was the first thing the family did upon scooping the prize.

New Spanish route launched |

Budget airline easyJet has launched its inaugural flight between East Midlands Airport and the Spanish holiday island of Mallorca.
The thrice weekly flight will transport travellers on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from now until April 12th, whereupon it will offer daily flights throughout the busy summer months.
In total it is anticipated that 100,000 Britons taking Spanish holidays to Mallorca will travel on this route in the coming 12 months.
"Palma is a favourite destination for families looking to explore the island of Mallorca, as well as a popular city break destination," commented David Osborne, easyJet UK general manager.
