Proposal takes place on flight to Alicante |

 This Valentine’s Day one couple’s romantic Spanish holiday began while on a flight to Alicante, with a proposal of marriage.
While flying through the air on the way toward a luxury holiday in Spain Mick Hill proposed to his girlfriend Sharalyn Anderson.
The couple were taking a flight to Alicante from Luton when 52-year-old Sharalyn of Leigh on Sea received a special Valentine's Day card and a marriage proposal from her boyfriend.
Cabin crew then announced the couple’s engagement to the rest of the passengers as they shared a bottle of champagne.

Austrians plump for Spanish holidays |

 Spanish holidays are in demand among Austrian tourists, according to newly released figures.
Wiener Zeitung reports that a leisure-time and tourism poll by research institute IFT showed that 60 per cent of Austrians took holidays amounting to at least two days in 2007.
And among the favourite holiday destinations for Austrians were luxury holidays in Spain, the publication reveals.
According to the figures, the average holiday was 11 days long and six per cent of holidaymakers took flights to Spain.

Airport accommodation makes top-ten list |

 On the occasion that travelers' flights to Spain are delayed, there is now the chance to catch up on forty winks in the solitude of a private capsular form of hotel room.
The Yotel at London Heathrow Airport's Terminal 4 promises to provide "everything you would expect from a luxury hotel in a small space".
A Yotel is also available at London Gatwick's South Terminal where weary travelers can choose from a premium double room or a standard single cabin.
The cabins provide holidaymakers with a private area in which to rest in addition to en suite bathrooms in which to freshen up before their flights.

Love 'blossoms in Spanish holiday resort' |

 In a heart warming post-Valentine's Day tale, love has blossomed in the popular Spanish holiday resort of Benidorm.
Typically Spanish reports that according to EFE news agency, 35-year old elephant Petita - known as the "ugly duckling" of the zoo - has found love after years of rejection based on her appearance.
The publication notes that Petita is a resident of Terra Natura animal park and had previously been unable to secure the interests of a mate.
So aesthetically unattractive was Petita that she was not only rejected several times but on occasion attacked by potential suitors and had to be protected by fellow female elephant Kaioso.

Flights to Spain: Self-service check-in kiosks 'offer seamless experience' |

 Holidaymakers taking flights to Spain may find they can enjoy a more streamlined travel experience when using self-service check-in kiosks.
According to Virgin Atlantic, holidaymakers' journeys through airports are "easier" as a result of the kiosks.
British Airways, which offers flights to Spain, has 220 BA check-in kiosks at 39 major airports which are used by roughly 675,000 customers to check-in on a monthly basis.
"It gives the customer the choice of how they want to interact at check-in and gives the passenger a simple and seamless experience," Janine Donovan, press officer at Virgin Atlantic commented.

Spanish holidays and travel see "record year" |

 Last year saw a record year on in terms of the performance of travel as an industry, it has been reported.
According to Easier, the Guild of Travel Management Companies final figures for 2007 showed that members made almost 14 million bookings for the year. Something it claims is an all time record.
Increases were reported in the sectors of hotel and rail bookings, while flight bookings increased in quarters two and three.

 Britons looking to take family holidays in Spain this Easter have been advised to book their flights to Spain early.
According to Thomas Cook, many Britons take advantage of the extra days' holiday over Easter in order to take a three or four-day family holiday in Spain.
With children having school holidays, families can enjoy travelling overseas and taking flights to Spain for early summer sun holidays to destinations with guaranteed good weather.
"Being Easter and that the kids are off school, Thomas Cook always advises to book in advance to ensure people get the destination and dates they want," a spokesperson advised.
