'Buy insurance' before taking a holiday in Spain
Travel insurance is a must-have for people taking holidays in Spain and elsewhere, it has been suggested.

Scott Gorman, Sainsbury's travel insurance manager, said it is vital that people buy cover before taking a break abroad.

He noted that regardless of where people are travelling to or how long for, they should ensure they have a policy before leaving the UK.

Furthermore, Mr Gorman pointed out that insurance is relatively inexpensive to buy.

Flybe unveils winter schedule
Budget airline Flybe has unveiled its winter schedule for 2010/11.

Brits planning to book flights to Spain later this year may be interested to learn that the carrier is set to operate 3,214 flights a week on 143 key routes.

Mike Rutter, chief commercial officer at Flybe, said despite industry challenges over the last year, Flybe has been able to continue building its capacity.

"The diversity of our winter destinations is ideal for those wanting to book affordable business travel as well as those looking for short breaks over the autumn half-term and Christmas periods.

Holidaymakers 'want more bang for their buck'
The economic downturn has had a major impact on the spending habits of British holidaymakers, according to new research.

A poll carried out by Simon Seeks, a travel site that invites users to submit their own destination reviews, most people will not book a holiday to Spain or elsewhere unless it is discounted.

The survey found that 60 per cent of Britons are set to spend between £250 and £500 on their break this summer.

"The results show us that Brits are online, on the ball and certainly not prepared to either pay full price or use credit to pay for this year's holiday," said Simon Nixon, the website's founder.

Women offered fashion advice for holidays in Spain
Ladies planning to take holidays to Spain this summer have been offered some advice to ensure they look their best.

Belinda White, fashion director at handbag.com, said women should pack a capsule wardrobe with a few essential items in it.

The Adventure Divers team are based at the resort from April until November and cater for people of all ages and abilities.

Lasting between three and four days, the Open Water course is ideal for people that are keen to learn the basics.

Other programmes on offer include the Bubblemaker Experience, which is designed for children and aims to boost their confidence in the water.

Guests holidaying at La Manga Club during the school holidays will have the chance to take part in the resort's Funlandia family programme.

Launched earlier this year, it features a host of activities that people of all ages can enjoy.
The kind of things holidaymakers can expect include karaoke and children's disco sessions, family bingo, games in the swimming pool and kid's movie nights.

Sports matches and tournaments will also be on offer, as well as afternoon games.

Brits planning to holiday in Spain this summer will find a wide range of self-catering properties to rent at the Mar Menor Resort in Murcia.

The complex is home to 924 villas, 184 townhouses and 1,150 apartments, meaning there is something to suit families and groups of all sizes.

Apartments, which are available with one, two and three bedrooms, come fully furnished to a high standard and include cooking facilities, air conditioning units, televisions and washing machines.
