Press officer for Abta Sean Tipton claimed that so-called budget airlines may not prove to be so when examined in closer detail.

Parents are advised to check whether such airlines offer discounts for children on flights to Spain and whether they are in the city centre and accessible.

Spain parties on through April showers 14th April 2008
The Feria de Sevilla, or April fair, in the Spanish city of Seville has continued this year despite an unusual amount of rainfall.

Spanish partygoers thronged the streets of the historic Andalucian city to attend the annual celebrations, which included the switching on of the fairground illuminations.

Although rain was forecast for the week, it did not appear to be dampening the spirits of local residents, visitors to Seville for the festivities and those on Spanish holidays.

Stalls selling fried fish and shrimp did a brisk business as thousands of people flocked to the fairground and the small tents, or casetas, which are characteristic of Feria.

Flights to Alicante for Moors and Christians festival 14th April 2008
A stunning historic battle re-enactment takes place every year in the town of Alcoi, Spain, as part of an annual festival.

Taking place between April 21st and 24th this year, the Alcoi Moors and Christians Festival is in honour of Saint George, the patron saint of the region.

During the first two days of the event, the two 'armies' march through the town accompanied by pipes and drums, with the 'battle' held the day after St George's Day, re-enacting a fight between Moors and Christians that took place during the 13th century.

Local residents vie for a coveted place in one of the armies and spend the year preparing their costume and manoeuvres in an attempt to recreate the atmosphere of the Middle Ages.
