Play paddle tennis in La Manga14th May 2008
Home to world-renowned tournaments like the Davis Cup and the Fed Cup, La Manga Club Tennis Centre is a 28-court facility providing the ultimate leisure and relaxation facility on a Spanish holiday.

To provide a twist, paddle tennis is also on offer on two glass-walled courts combining skills involved in tennis, racketball and squash.

Paddle tennis is played in both singles and doubles and uses the same scoring as tennis, but involves only underhand serves and is played on a smaller court.

For traditionalists, based in the heart of the resort, the centre has a tennis academy and artificial grass, clay and hard surfaces alongside a tennis academy.

Prince Andrew 'loves to play golf while abroad'14th May 2008
UK royal Prince Andrew has revealed that he never leaves home for a trip abroad without his trusty golf clubs.

The Prince has a well-documented history with the sport, having formerly served as captain of the world famous Royal and Ancient Golf Club at St Andrews from 2002 to 2003 and having previously attended the US Open, according to the Times Online.

Prince Andrew tells the newspaper: "Yes, I travel with my clubs because there may be a time when I can play."

He adds that unfortunately his role as business ambassador for the UK does not allow him as much time as he would like for the sport, which is a popular feature of many Spanish holidays.

Those planning on car hire in La Manga may want to ask themselves if they are a Planner, a SatNavvy, a Freewheeler or a Road Signer.

The distinction could make all the difference to a Spanish holiday this year, following the identification of the specific driving types by UK psychologist David Moxon, according to Easier Travel.

Chief executive officer of easycar.com Bill Jones tells the website that "a bit of forward planning can help make sure your road trip is stress-free", which may suggest he is type A - the Planner - along with 38 per cent of the UK population.

Car hire in La Manga - motorists reveal driving fears13th May 2008
Almost half of British motorists are hesitant about getting behind the wheel on foreign shores according to figures released by Norwich Union.

The most common fear among UK drivers was that they would be involved in an accident while they were abroad, with 49 per cent sharing this worry.

Other concerns included having their car break down while they were on holiday and getting to grips with rules and regulations which were unfamiliar to them.

Erik Nelson, a spokesperson for Norwich Union, commented to easier.

Online trend for Spanish holiday bookings13th May 2008
New research has found that nearly one in three Spanish holidays is now booked via the internet.

Of all Spanish holidays booked last year, 31 per cent were reserved online - a figure Google Spain's Javier Gonzalez-Soria predicts will increase to eclipse travel agents as the most popular form of booking by 2010, according to eventplannerspain.com.

Mr Gonzalez-Soria is reported by the website to have commented that UK holiday bookings are expected to follow the trend set by US figures, where online sales outnumber agency sales, with a majority of 40 per cent.

Holidays on the Costa Calida13th May 2008
La Manga club is situated within the region of Costa Calida in the south-east corner of Spain. It stretches 250 km from the beach of Carolina in Aguilas to the beach of El Mojon by Alicante.

The region was fairly neglected by holiday makers for many years, but with an average of 315 days sunshine per year and helped in no small part by the fame of La Manga club, it has become a popular spot for people from all over Europe.

One of the most famous parts of the region is the Mar Menor, a 135 square kilometre salt water lagoon.
