Low-cost airline bmibaby flies to Alicante Airport, which serves La Manga, and believes May and June are the perfect months for those who want to avoid the school holiday rush.
The carrier recommends a host of beaches for early summer - which La Manga guests might like to hire a car in Murcia and visit. For example, the 900-metre Playa del Postiguet is one of the cleanest beaches one can visit, having consistently been awarded the Blue Flag.

Those planning on renting a car in Murcia may be interested by the latest advice to come from consumer champion Which?.
The body is urging people who plan to spend portions of their holidays driving to be well prepared in advance.
In particular, Which? claims that travellers should stock up on refreshments before they take to the road, rather than stopping off at services and petrol stations.
Research by the organisation shows that, in the UK at least, the stores at such stopping points do not always offer value for money.

The AA has issued advice to anybody hiring a car in Spain or simply travelling long distances as part of their holidays.
Car hire in Murcia is one of the best ways to explore this beautiful region of southern Spain, but motorists should be wary of spending too long on the road.
Research by the AA revealed that two-thirds of drivers do not take breaks when travelling long distances - putting them at risk of becoming tired and potentially causing accidents.
Therefore, the organisation advises planning journeys properly before they take to the road, factoring at least a 15-minute break into journeys of more than three hours.

Music lovers planning on holidaying in La Manga Club might be interested to learn that Antony and the Johnsons are planning a show in Murcia.
The band, fronted by Antony Hegarty, will be playing at the Auditorio de Murcia on May 7th - one of only three shows the New York-based outfit will be playing in Spain.
Tickets for the Murcia gig are still available, but those interested in renting a car in Murcia and driving to the gig may like to act soon, as the other two dates - in Madrid and San Sebastian - have already sold out.
News of the European tour comes after critical and commercial success for Antony's other band, the disco-influenced Hercules and Love Affair.

Couples holidaying at La Manga Club this August might like to take the short trip to Almeria for a day of dancing in the sun.
Global dance festival Creamfields is returning to Andalucia on August 15th, it has been confirmed.
Names already on the bill for the all-day dance music party include Tiesto, Trentemoller and Rex the Dog - with many more to be announced over the coming months.
A number of reduced-price tickets for the event will be available for those who book early, set at a very tempting 35 euros (£32).

Travelling by hire car is the best way for those taking holidays in Spain to get around, it has been claimed.
According to Merinews.com, there are plenty of options available to Brits travelling to the Murcia and Alicante areas, with hire cars available at the airport and in resort centres.
The news provider advises holidaymakers to ensure they hire a car with air conditioning and take out extra insurance cover in order to avoid any nasty surprises when the vehicle is returned.
