Passengers on flights to La Manga could soon be able to get married while in the air, if easyJet gets its way.
The budget airline, which flies to Almeria, Murcia and Alicante on the Costa Blanca, has enquired with authorities as to whether its captains will be able to officiate weddings.
If its proposals are accepted, couples will be able to depart the UK as engaged and arrive for their holidays in Spain as husband and wife, eTravel reports.
"If our request is replied positively, then so called 'floating on cloud nine' would get a new meaning for people in love - and we can offer another special service to our passengers," commented Paul Simmons, UK regional general manager for easyJet.

Those planning on renting a car in Murcia may be interested by the latest advice to come from consumer champion Which?.
The body is urging people who plan to spend portions of their holidays driving to be well prepared in advance.

Research by the organisation shows that, in the UK at least, the stores at such stopping points do not always offer value for money.

Advice for holiday drivers |
01st May 2009 |
|
|
|
The AA has issued advice to anybody hiring a car in Spain or simply travelling long distances as part of their holidays.
Car hire in Murcia is one of the best ways to explore this beautiful region of southern Spain, but motorists should be wary of spending too long on the road.
Research by the AA revealed that two-thirds of drivers do not take breaks when travelling long distances - putting them at risk of becoming tired and potentially causing accidents.
Therefore, the organisation advises planning journeys properly before they take to the road, factoring at least a 15-minute break into journeys of more than three hours.

Holidays in Spain are 'cheapest in eurozone' |
01st May 2009 |
|

Staying in Spanish holiday villas could be one of the most affordable options available to British tourists at the moment.
That is the latest finding of Post Office Travel Services, which ranked Spain as the cheapest destination within the eurozone in its annual holiday costs barometer report.
Many holidaymakers may have been tempted in recent months to consider holidaying beyond traditional favourites such as Spain, with the pound weakening against the euro of late.
However, eurozone countries have heeded the warning and are cutting prices to entice wavering visitors back, the organisation found.
