Nadal 'destined for Benidorm'

Tennis ace Rafa Nadal will arrive in the Spanish resort of Benidorm this week, ahead of Spain's forthcoming Davis Cup clash against Serbia.

According to the Benidorm Spotlight, Nadal is due to arrive on Friday to begin is preparations for the tournament which takes place from March 6th to 8th.

The event will take place in a specially designed stadium at Terra Mitica and, according to the newspaper, more than 14,000 tickets have been snapped up by tennis fans.

Nadal is said to be recovering from a recent knee injury and pulled out of a recent competition in Dubai in order to prepare for Benidorm.

Spain's beaches to get 'new sand'

Those taking holidays in Spain this summer can enjoy the feeling on "new" sand between their toes.

Authorities in the Costa del Sol are planning to rebuild the area's beaches with new sand in time for the Easter holidays.

According to Typically Spanish, as part of the first phase of improvements, beaches including those in Marbella, Estepona and Malaga will be covered with new sand.

A further 20 beaches in the area will also be improved before summer and the second phase is expected to be completed by June.
