The resort is an ideal destination for walking and jogging and guests will find many well-marked trails and tracks in the vicinity of the club.

Guests with enough energy can travel through the nearby village of Los Belones and climb to the summit of La Fuente Hill, which offers unrivalled views of the surrounding area.

Holidays to La Manga Club could be among the preferred choices for British holidaymakers over the New Year period, after new research revealed Alicante is one of their favourite destinations.

Skyscanner examined the frequency with which certain locations were searched for on its search engine and found Alicante to be one of the top ten.

"Another Spanish city long popular with Brits, locals tend to start off the Nochevieja celebrations with a huge family dinner at home, after which the younger members hit the town for the night," said the firm.

It added that Plaza del Ayuntamiento in El Barrio is one of the best places to head to enjoy the party, with numerous discotheques staying open into the small hours.
