Clean-up operation launched for Costa del Sol |

A new initiative has been launched to ensure that the beaches of the Costa del Sol remain as clean as possible for holidaymakers.
Over the next three years, 25 "clean-up boats" will patrol the Spanish coast and make sure that the sea remains pristine for bathers, Typically Spanish reports.
"The operation will be split into three regions, Axarquia with 11 boats, Western Costa del Sol with 12 boats, and Malaga City with four boats," the news provider said.
Almost six million euros has been set aside to pay for the clean-up plan, with the majority being contributed by local authorities.

Young holidaymakers are heading to Spain in droves, it has been claimed.
While the number of Brits taking holidays this year may be down on previous times, the credit crunch has not deterred young people from jetting abroad.
According to a recent study by the Co-operative Travel, there has been an increase in the number of people under the age of 30 booking holidays in Spain.
The Costa Blanca is the fifth most popular destination for young holidaymakers, TravelMole reports.

Costa Blanca hotels set for 'Easter boom' |

Hotels in the Costa Blanca region of Spain are preparing for a busy Easter period, it has been revealed.
According to Hosbec, the Benidorm and Costa Blanca hoteliers Association, hotels in the area could have occupancy rates of up to 90 per cent over Easter, as families from across Europe take holidays in Spain.
The organisation's president, Antoni Mayor said that most hotels are already around 70 per cent full and with last-minute bookings that figure is expected to increase considerably, Typically Spanish reports.
Meanwhile, families looking to get away this Easter could consider holidaying at La Manga Club in Murcia.

Brits plan Easter escapes |

Millions of Brits are planning to escape the doom and gloom with holidays to Spain and other destinations.
According to travel site Sunshine.co.uk, holiday sales for this Easter are up 40 per cent compared to the previous year, suggesting that despite the downturn, Brits are not planning to sacrifice their holidays.

Reductions in the price of Spanish property has created a great deal of buyer interest, it has been claimed.
According to overseas property resource Nubricks.com, "bargains" are now becoming available on the Spanish property market.
Adam Samuel, director of the company, said: "Now there's quite a lot of distressed or below market value properties on the market, while you're seeing up to 50 per cent reduction in price and it's bringing people out to buy.

According to figures from wedding specialists Marry Abroad, the cost of getting hitched in the UK comes in at a whopping £20,000, compared to £5,000 for a wedding overseas.
"Second time marriages are popular abroad too so people who have done the big church wedding first time round and don't want to do it again, then choose to get married abroad," she commented.
Getting married in a country such as Spain also means there is less chance of rain.

Overseas weddings offer 'great value' |

Getting married overseas is an excellent option for couples during the credit crunch, it has been suggested.
Speaking recently, Nick Gropper, managing director at Weddings and Honeymoons Abroad, said that getting married overseas in a destination such as Spain can be a much cheaper alternative to tying the knot in the UK.
"Getting married in the UK costs round about £20,000 whereas when you get married abroad, the average cost is about £4,000 so couples can still get married during a time when there is not much money floating around," he commented.
According to research published recently by Mintel, 16 per cent of Brits now get married abroad, with numbers increasing by 43 per cent since 2003.

As well as enjoying activities within the resort, holidaymakers staying at La Manga Club will find plenty to explore outside.
The resort is bordered on two sides by the stunning Calblanque National Park, which is the ideal place for a spot of jogging and hill walking.
