Brits 'taking holidays but spending less' |

British consumers are still booking holidays to Spain and other destinations, it has been claimed.
However, a new poll has revealed that holidaymakers are planning to spend almost £300 less this year.
Research carried out by Holiday-Rentals revealed that the average family is planning to spend £2,092 on a break abroad this year.
The poll suggested that the biggest cutbacks will be on transport, with families expected to spend £82 less on getting to their destination than they did in 2007.

Those heading on tennis holidays at La Manga Club in the coming months will be able to get even more value for money, thanks to the resort's Free Nights offer.
Guests at the five-star La Manga Club Principe Filipe hotel and the four-star Las Lomas Village can take advantage of the deal, which runs through medium and high season and applies to rooms only.
At the hotel, holidaymakers can enjoy one night in every four for free during medium season and one in seven in summer.
For those booking Spanish holiday villas at Las Lomas Village, two nights in every seven will be complimentary during both seasons, while one in every four will be free during medium season.

Passengers on flights to La Manga could soon be able to get married while in the air, if easyJet gets its way.
The budget airline, which flies to Almeria, Murcia and Alicante on the Costa Blanca, has enquired with authorities as to whether its captains will be able to officiate weddings.
If its proposals are accepted, couples will be able to depart the UK as engaged and arrive for their holidays in Spain as husband and wife, eTravel reports.
"If our request is replied positively, then so called 'floating on cloud nine' would get a new meaning for people in love - and we can offer another special service to our passengers," commented Paul Simmons, UK regional general manager for easyJet.

According to the Sun, La Manga Club is favourite with many famous faces, with various stars having spent time there over the years.

Those planning on renting a car in Murcia may be interested by the latest advice to come from consumer champion Which?.
The body is urging people who plan to spend portions of their holidays driving to be well prepared in advance.
In particular, Which? claims that travellers should stock up on refreshments before they take to the road, rather than stopping off at services and petrol stations.
Research by the organisation shows that, in the UK at least, the stores at such stopping points do not always offer value for money.

Cricketer has "excellent time" in La Manga |

La Manga Club is famous for its outstanding sports facilities, with three golf courses, 28 tennis courts and a host of training pitches.
Members of the Celtic squad recently heaped praise on the resort for the standards they experienced when taking a break there - a chorus to which one cricketer has now added her voice.
Diane Pedgrift has recently been selected for the Scottish women's cricket side and spent time last week at the ICC Europe Training Camp.
Commenting on the spell, she told the Arbroath Herald that she had "an excellent time" on the training holiday in La Manga Club.
