Spanish holiday island attraction 'to boost tourism' 03rd July 2008
Those looking for a spot of culture on their Spanish holidays will soon be able to find it on breaks to Majorca.

The Majorca Daily Bulletin reports that work is in progress for the Raixa country estate, an impressive and historic Majorcan property located at the foot of the Serra de Tramuntana, to be opened to the public.

It is hoped that a deal signed by the Spanish Biodiversity Foundation, the Council of Majorca and the University of the Balearic Islands will have the site ready for visitors by September.

Dating back to the time of the Moors, the finca was overhauled from farm buildings in to the marvel of design that it is today in the eighteenth century by Cardinal Antoni Despuig i Dameto.

Ross Elder, managing director of the company, noted that what Britons are unlikely to do is to miss out on their holiday altogether.
