Flights to Murcia for Easter and San Marcos celebrations18th March 2008
As Easter bank holiday fever sweeps the nation, some Britons may consider taking a Spanish holiday next month for another religious festival.

Spain is one of several Mediterranean countries to have kept the tradition of celebrating saint's days and memorable religious dates and festivals alive.

And during Easter week, this is particularly so. In Murcia over Easter locals wear hoods and tunics and take part in processions.

Spanish holiday island to host jazz sessions18th March 2008
The Spanish holiday island of Majorca is set to host a series of jazz concerts this summer, it has been revealed.

According to Mallorca Farmhouses, the popular Spanish holiday island is fast becoming home to a "hip arts and music scene".

Moreover, with several jazz concerts and events scheduled to take place over the coming months, the company claims that the island is to host a "festival fiesta frenzy".

Those taking flights to Spain from now until December could choose to extend their holiday with a trip to Majorca for the Jazz Voyeur Festival.

Brits 'to head abroad this Easter'18th March 2008
Many Britons are looking to escape the UK weather by taking a Spanish holiday, it has been reported.

According to Nationwide, as Brits wave goodbye to bad UK weather by heading overseas during the Easter bank holiday break, they should consider their choice of credit or debit card carefully.

Nationwide notes that UK holidaymakers "wasted" more than £650 million on foreign currency loading fees when on holidays in 2007.

"People who are planning to go abroad this Easter should be aware of the hidden charges that most card providers impose, which are both costly and unnecessary," Jeremy Wood, divisional director at Nationwide, said.

Travellers given holidays tip17th March 2008
Britons planning on booking into Spanish holiday villas this summer have been advised to strive for accuracy when filling in travel insurance documentation.

According to Sainsbury's Bank, 1.12 million people have knowingly given out false information when taking out insurance in the UK.

However, in doing so, such people could be risking invalidation of their travel insurance documents.

Brits contemplate family holidays in Spain17th March 2008
A significant proportion of Britons considered purchasing a Spanish holiday home in January of this year, it has been revealed.

According to HiFX, its Monthly Global Property Hotspots Report revealed that 22 per cent of enquiries received in this month were in regards to the acquisition of a Spanish holiday home.

This figure was only surpassed by those considering a ski property in France, however the company has advised potential buyers to hold off until summer.

"Property prices in the Alps have increased by 90 per cent over the last four years," commented Frederic Chamouret, senior advisor at VEF observed.

Those on Spanish holidays 'should be aware'17th March 2008
Britons intending to go on a Spanish holiday this Easter have been advised to be aware of hidden charges levied by credit and debit card providers.

According to Nationwide, many Britons intend to quit the shores of the UK this coming weekend in order to enjoy some early season sunshine.

However, the building society warns that more than £650 million was lost by Brits on Spanish holidays and other foreign sojourns last year thanks to charges on their cards.

"Returning from your Easter break to find charges for using your card abroad is enough to drive anyone hopping mad.

Spa holidays in Spain on the increase?17th March 2008
A rising number of Britons could soon be heading on Spanish holidays for the benefits of spa treatments as much as for a break in the sun, according to new research.

According to TravelMole, spa holidays are "making a comeback", with a Mintel report in 2007 suggesting that £135 million was spent in the UK on health and wellness holidays the previous year.

Moreover, Mintel anticipated that spending on such holidays would double by 2011 as the trend for healthy eating, exercise and relaxation continues.

Britons interested in incorporating both exercise and relaxation into their breaks away could consider a Spanish holiday in La Manga Club.

Royal welcome for Heathrow's Terminal 517th March 2008
Heathrow Airport's Terminal 5 has been officially opened by Her Majesty The Queen.

The royal inauguration was held on Friday March 14th 2008 and Britons travelling on Spanish holidays through the airport will be able to view the new terminal on March 27th 2008.

Roughly 30 million passengers are due to travel on holidays to Spain and elsewhere through the terminal annually.

Willie Walsh, British Airways chief executive, said: "Terminal 5 is a fantastic facility and our customers will really enjoy the space, comfort and convenience it offers.

La Manga del Mar Menor14th March 2008
La Manga del Mar Menor and indeed the Mar Menor is separated from the Mediterranean Sea by all but the thread of land that is La Manga.

The region of La Manga del Mar Menor measures roughly 13 miles in length and is often described as a lagoon or a lake.

Indeed, the Mar Menor measures a mere eight metres in depth at its deepest point and has a high salt content with an average water temperature of 17 degrees Celsius.

Popular with foreigners and locals, La Manga del Mar Menor attracts golfers to the three championship La Manga Club golf courses.

New flights to Spain announced14th March 2008
Spanish holidays can be enjoyed with even more ease by those living in Wales.

Airline bmibaby has announced that a new route between Cardiff International Airport and Barcelona will be available to passengers from late May.

The twice-weekly service will be launched on May 24th and will operate on Tuesdays and Saturdays, however as of June 18th, locals will be able to take flights to Spain on Wednesdays too as the service increases to three times a week.

"The new route strengthens our position as the number one airline at Cardiff Airport, flying more passengers than any other low cost airline.
