If your favourite is Chinese food then no doubt you would have tried Casa Lee in Los Belones, just outside La Manga Club. It was located on the main road in Los Belones but on the edge of town, well known to the locals and La Manga Club residents and visitors but not in a prime position.
We are pleased to say that they have now moved to a great location within the much newer building that you see as you enter Los Belones from La Manga Club on the right. The Pyramid commercial centre is the attractive unusual style building which also houses a pizza restaurant, The Run and a new Spanish tapas bar and drinks bar.
La Manga Club has a selection of shops on site with several boutiques selling European fashion at reasonable prices, even better recently with the Euro making everything much better value. For a great day out and shopping trip off site, La Manga Club is just a short drive to Cartagena where you can find a branch of the famous El Corte Ingles department shop. You can also enjoy the new port that has been designed at Cartagena which is very attractive and is now proving to be an important stop on the many cruise ships itinerary.
In between La Manga Club and Cartagena you can now also find the huge retail park known as Espacio Mediterraneo which consists of large stores such as Leroy Merlin and Mediamart and within the stylish malls you will find firm favourites such as Primark, Zara and H & M.
If you have ventured out of La Manga Club, heading towards Cartagena, you might wonder what is going on in the very brightly multi coloured building to be seen in the distance on your right.
It is the factory that produces Cuarenta y Tres, Licor 43 which is a Spanish liquor made from 43 ingredients produced exclusively in Cartagena . The exact ingredients is a closely guarded family secret but it includes oranges, lemons, vanilla and herbs. The stripes on the factory building represent the ingredients and at the entrance the red stripes represent the red in the Spanish flag.
We are pleased to offer some tips on enjoying the perfect Easter eggscape. It is not too late to book a break under the blue skies and enjoy the warm sunny days at La Manga Club and escape the cold, blustery UK.
Families taking flights to Alicante and Murcia and other destinations should allow themselves plenty of time to travel to the airport and consider possible traffic delays.
Taking a supply of food and drink is also advisable, particularly for those travelling with small children in case of unexpected delays.
Those of you who regularly visit La Manga Club will no doubt at least once during your stay visited the large supermarket just off the slip road at Cabo de Palos.
Only a few minutes drive and you will find the large supermarket formerly known as Upper set back off of the road into Cabo de Palos. Upper has now been taken over by the Spar chain of supermarkets but still remains a great place to shop with a huge range of groceries. There is a small electrical store within the main store entrance and an independent small café which serves snacks and drinks throughout the day.
It is not unusual to see a famous face on one of La Manga Clubs three golf courses or on one of the twenty eight tennis courts throughout the year. Some celebrities and well known sports stars own homes at La Manga Club and many just return and rent a beautiful holiday home.
