While your holiday at La Manga Club is the perfect time to cut yourself off from the hustle and bustle of the real world, these days, we all seem to be able to find umpteen reasons to justify why we need to stay in touch, depending on your mobile phone contract, you may indeed be happy to rely on your phone to keep you up to date with emails, calls and any minor surfing on the internet that you might need to do. That said, if you are not on the right type of mobile phone contract, relying on your phone on the continent can prove seriously pricey if you do not stay well on top of what you are doing. So, when planning to use your mobile phone abroad, always be aware of what the costs are likely to be. With mobile phone bills, it is better to know exactly what to expect rather than get a nasty shock with your post-holiday bill.
So, if you do need either sporadic or regular internet access, what are the options at La Manga? WiFi is available in all guest rooms and apartments at Las Lomas village and in all the public areas at the Hotel Principe Felipe. The way to access the WiFi at the resort is to buy an access card at Reception and hook up your laptop to the network. In addition to the accommodation and hotel options, Bar 37, which is to be found at the golf Club House; Tie Break, not surprisingly found at the Tennis Centre; The Deli Café and Mulligans all offer WiFi too.
So, while we’re not suggesting in any way that staying in touch with work should be allowed to interfere with your relaxing or sporty stay at La Manga resort, if you do have a genuine need to be in touch, then it shouldn’t pose you any problem whatsoever. No matter which accommodation you’ve opted for, apart from the Las Lomas Village townhouses, you will have access on a paid basis to WiFi pretty much whenever you want it using the resort card.
It may well be that you decide that only a few minutes a day is enough to reassure you that the world can survive perfectly well without you. Or, if you’re self-employed, for example, it you might need a more constant contact with the world. If that’s the case, why not use your iPad or your iPhone to connect to the resorts WiFi and give you the reassurance that when you pass from golf to tennis, to lunch and even by the pool, you’ll be on constant alert if someone urgently needs to be in touch. Whatever your needs for connection, even if it’s just to let the kids top up their FaceBook or Twitter accounts, or if you want to Skype the family back in Blighty, you know that your connection point is never far away.
So, no matter whether you’re a high flyer, a self-employed business owner or just a bit of an internet junkie, at La Manga Resort, you need never go without your contact with the outside world. All of that said, you are supposed to be taking a break, so try to keep it reasonable!
