Watersports at La Manga Club

As you would expect, with its proximity to the sea and emphasis on sport and well-being, theres a whole host of watersports waiting to be enjoyed at La Manga Club, what is more, thanks to the wonderfully warm climate, you should not need to worry too much about wet suits, dry suits or wrapping up in any shape or form. At La Manga Club resort, you can pretty much book your watersports in the knowledge that the Mediterranean sun will wind up shining on you. In fact, as anyone who has visited will know, in the Mar Menor lagoon, temperatures are reputed to be a good few degrees warmer than the Mediterranean average.

So, when it comes to selecting which watersport might float your boat at La Manga, there are a huge number of options on offer. Windsurfing, for example, in the constant thermal winds is an absolute pleasure, and you need not be Robby Naish to achieve results here. Even complete beginners should be able to master the art of getting upright and enjoying the experience of being carried by the warm lagoon waters. Thereafter, you might have your sights on dinghy sailing, canoeing or kayaking. If you are keen to find your sea-legs, La Manga is certainly the place to do it.

With virtually no instruction and just a little safety guidance, anyone can master the art of getting from A to B in a canoe or a kayak. A superb family option, both canoeing and kayaking are a real pleasure for either a morning or an afternoon. That said, if you’re a bit more into either sport, there’s always the option to take on a longer term arrangement and really perfect your expertise. Even the most humble beginner, with a little bit of instruction, can achieve impressive results with paddles over the period of a week or so.

All of that said, if you fancy something a bit faster, then there are escorted jet-ski options, power boating and water skiing, all within minutes of the La Manga resort. You could even hire a boat to take you out on the open waters to explore the coast and transport you to a land, apparently uninhabited by others. Sailing boats, rowing boats, powerboats and yachts can all be hired within a stones throw of La Manga, which means you can either be your very own “Owl and Pussycat” or you can pretend to be a millionaire for the day by hiring something seriously upmarket. Either way, you’ll be able to take to the waters and enjoy the seafaring life so popular amongst the rich and famous.

When it comes to exploring under water, the Adventure Divers Centre, which is PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) accredited, is also right on the La Manga doorstep. With taster courses, right up to master level classes, this small diving centre truly has something to offer at every level of the sport. Add to diving, the kite surfing, snorkeling and even fishing opportunities around La Manga Club and you’ll start to see why so many water babes and water beaus come to this neck of the woods to find their very own corner of paradise.
