Britons looking to take family holidays in Spain this Easter have been advised to book their flights to Spain early.
According to Thomas Cook, many Britons take advantage of the extra days' holiday over Easter in order to take a three or four-day family holiday in Spain.
With children having school holidays, families can enjoy travelling overseas and taking flights to Spain for early summer sun holidays to destinations with guaranteed good weather.
"Being Easter and that the kids are off school, Thomas Cook always advises to book in advance to ensure people get the destination and dates they want," a spokesperson advised.
She added that traditional city breaks to Barcelona are "always popular" over Easter.
In 2007, the cost of the average holiday over Easter rose from £1,533 in 2006 to £2,376 per booking, Travel Counsellors reports.
