La Manga Club has a huge range of restaurants to choose from, there are over 25 on the club and more in the surrounding towns, there is a restaurant of almost every cuisine, English, Italian, Chinese, Indian, American, Mexican, and Spanish.
I like a restaurant to be inviting from the outside with a relaxed atmosphere throughout, most of the restaurants at La Manga Club give this feel. There is one in particular which I personally recommend to anyone going to the club. Canelas, just a 2 minute drive from the La Manga Club Hotel is perfect for family or romantic meals for 2. Set in the lemon groves it has a stunning location.
Some of the best cuts of meat are served at Canela’s accompanied by some of the best wines, menus are reasonable and extensive catering for all pallets. It is the only restaurant at La Manga Club where I can manage 3 courses as I do not want to miss out on the delicious puddings.
The staff are extremely friendly and will aim to please you 100% of your time. They will try there best to get you anything you want and will cater for small children if requested. They will adapt the menu to suit the specific child.
Canela’s is situated on a riding stables making the location very interesting and worth a look around. When you arrive at the restaurant there may be horses being ridden which is a lovely to watch whilst enjoying a glass of wine.
The menu is varied and will always include a range of food. Starters include salads, cheese and meats and fruit. The main dishes are always extremely good, the meats include lamb, beef, duck, pork and chicken. Fish dishes which are always sourced locally include salmon, sea bass, cod and king prawns. The dessert list is always the bit I look forward to during my time at Canela’s, it includes a huge range of things from home made cheesecakes to apple strudel. As a chocoholic myself I would defiantly choose either the profiteroles or the fudge cake.
The selection of wines available is huge, there is over 25 red and 25 white wines to choose from. The wine list is set out so that it recommends to go with certain dishes, this can be very useful if you are not a wine connoisseur like myself.
If you wish to pre book Canela’s before you arrive at La Manga Club you can do, they take bookings a long way in advance and are happy to take any specific requirements you may have. I.e. a abnormally large group booking or an unusual eater in the party.
