Sipping cocktails at La Manga Club

No matter whether its a Margarita, a Tom Collins, a Gin Sling or a simple Martini that floats your boat, you wont be disappointed at the La Manga Club Piano Lounge Bar. With its impressive range of backlit bottles, the bar itself would be the ideal backdrop to the likes of Tom Cruise (in his film cocktail), shaking up a mean cocktail. Spacious and modern, the focus at the Piano Lounge Bar is comfort and relaxation. Big soft seats with an abundance of cushions are waiting to embrace you while you enjoy your favourite tipple.

When it comes to cocktails, everyone has their own personal favourite. It may be that youíre a tall, icy cocktail fan or you might prefer your cocktails short and stylish. Either way, the attentive staff at the La Manga Club Piano Lounge Bar are sure to hit the spot.

Opening at 7 in the evening, the Piano Lounge Bar is the ideal spot to take an aperitif before you enjoy dinner, either in one of the resort restaurants or maybe a barbecue back at your accommodation. After a long day relaxing at the pool or putting yourself through a punishing sporting regime, a well-earned cocktail is equally appropriate. Picture the scene, youíve showered and dressed up a bit (or not, itís up to you) and you might even partake of a couple of tapas from their range of Asian and Middle Eastern offerings. Whatever your choice, youíre sure to enjoy a calm moment, either as a couple, family or with a group of friends.

The Piano Lounge Bar at La Manga is the perfect place, no matter the time of evening to enjoy an expertly mixed cocktail. Offering live entertainment from 10.30pm it gives you the opportunity to soak up the atmosphere until the wee small hours. So, if youíre a lover of cocktails, itís certainly the place to head for at least one of the evenings of your well-earned break.

But before your break, why not get in the mood by mixing yourself a mean cocktail or two at home? Hereís a couple of ideas thatíll get you truly into the Spanish holiday spirit. The first is Tinto de Verano and the second is an Agua de Valencia.

A Tinto de Verano is a refreshing drink thatís quite like sangria, but more commonly selected by the locals. It couldnít be easier to make. All you need to do is take half a glass of red wine and top it up with lemonade, finish with a slice of lemon and some fresh mint. Thereafter, just add a few ice cubes and serve in a highball glass and enjoy!

Agua de Valencia is a cocktail more commonly served in a pitcher and poured into individual cocktail glasses. Hereís how to make it: mix 250mls of cava, 750mls of orange juice and 100mls of Cointreau and add 50g of sugar then give the mix a good stir. You can serve it with or without ice, depending on your personal preference.

These are only two of the many, slightly less well known Spanish cocktails you could concoct to get yourself in the holiday mood and once youíre in situ at La Manga Club, youíll be able to sample a whole range of international cocktails, both well and not so well known. Enjoy!
