Maribel Restaurant La Manga

There is no getting away from the fact that when you choose La Manga, the main reason is likely to be for the healthy, sporty outdoor lifestyle, but one of the other principle reasons is almost certainly for the food, both in and around La Manga, there are more restaurants than you care to think about and youíll certainly be able to enjoy a completely different culinary experience pretty much every day during your tennis holiday, unless of course youíre planning a 3-month stay!

Maribel Restaurant is a traditional Spanish restaurant located on the road to the West Golf Course, so not very far away from the main centre at all. In fact itís only about a 2-minute drive from La Manga centre itself and 5 minutes from Los Belones, so itís perfectly accessible, wherever you choose as your base for your tennis stay. A pretty much unassuming exterior, youíll be particularly surprised and pleased if you manage to secure yourself a table on the terrace at this restaurant that offers a varied, albeit largely fish-based menu. From the terrace, on which you can enjoy a pre-dinner drink before your meal, youíll enjoy views over the landscape at La Manga, right across to the plain at the Mar Menor. Whatís more, while you do this, the kids can take advantage of the large grassed area where they can meet new friends and run off their energy.

Renowned for its great prices, the Maribel offers some innovative and unusual dishes, for example its seafruit soup and seafruit gratin, both of which are delightful. But thereís more to this restaurant than the fruits of the sea, they also do some really mean meat dishes and have a lengthy wine list that isnít over priced, so there truly is something for everyone. With offerings of everything from burgers to pasta dishes, right up to sophisticated seafood platters, both adults and kids are quickly converted to regulars at this spot. No matter whether youíre an extended family of 10 at the table, or youíre seeking a romantic dinner for two, the Maribel will deliver.

A family owned restaurant, the Maribel seems to get the right balance between classy style and efficient informality, because their staff are attentive without at any time being ďin your faceĒ. In fact, when you check out the Maribel on the social media, the only negative comment youíre likely to find is that people need to wait until their next holiday to go back! What this most likely means is that the Maribel is well worth a visit early on during your stay, so you can always head back again and again if you get the ďbugĒ like others seem to.

When youíre at La Manga to enjoy the tennis, thereís no getting away from the fact that being on court and on form will be extremely important to you, but even the most focused tennis fans who come here take time to chill out and relax off-court. The great thing about this resort is that youíll never be left looking for something to do because there simply is a pretty much endless range of sporting opportunities, as well as restaurants and bars that mean your evenings will be as fun-filled as your days. Even if youíre staying on-site there are plenty of restaurants and bars, just a stoneís throw from the resort to open up the opportunity for doing something different if you fancy it.

One of the things to bear in mind if youíre choosing to dine at the Maribel, is that it really isnít far from the resort centre, so donít be tempted to book a taxi for the short journey. Even if youíve hired a car or driven to the resort, you mightnít necessarily want to drive on a night out, but this restaurant is easily accessible on foot, or the other alternative is to take the resort courtesy bus to the West Golf Course, which is open until relatively late in the evening. Thereafter, all you need to do is wander down the 100 or so meter road to the Maribel. Not only will this save you money, itíll save you the worry of driving.

So, if youíre planning your next tennis holiday at La Manga, you can really get your taste buds revved up for this restaurant experience. You can be sure that in season or out of season, you wonít be disappointed with whatís on offer here and whatís more; even your wallet will like the prices!
