Lee Westwood at La Manga Club

At La Manga Club, you can really enjoy the Lee Westwood golf experience. English born Lee Westwood stands a full six feet tall and in 2013 will turn 40. With interests in cinema, snooker, cars, football and Notts Forest, there is no doubt that it is the little white ball that gets the main focus of his attention. Married with a couple of kids, Lees golfing career goes right back when he was only 13, at which point, gifted with a half set of clubs he took up the sport and very quickly went on to take the Nottinghamshire junior championship, well before he had even heard of La Manga.

Before the presence of his academy at La Manga Club, Lee’s career was developing in leaps and bounds. Things went from strength to strength for Lee, turning pro at the young age of 20, pretty much straight away after winning the British Youth Championship. With a range of trophies under his belt, won in various continents across the globe, Lee enjoys great success in his sport and is a regular face in the Ryder Cup team where he enjoys pretty much unparalleled success. It was in 2007 that he first established himself as a real force to be reckoned with in Spain however, when he took the Valle Romano Open in Andalucía. With a truly impressive track record, Lee’s career continues to go from great to even greater as each year goes by, which is why his prominence at La Manga Club is such good news for young golfers.

At La Manga Club, for budding young golfers, it’s The Lee Westwood Academy that is the jewel in its golfing crown. The Lee Westwood Academy is geared up to help young golfers develop and share the love and passion for the sport that has opened up all these doors for Lee. Established back in 2009 in the UK, Lee was instrumental in conceiving a whole new style of golf academy and continues to play a hands-on role.

Not only does The Lee Westwood Academy instruction cover the technicalities of the sport, it touches on nutrition, fitness and psychology as well as the rules and the etiquette of the game. So not only are these budding young hopefuls learning how to more effectively engage with the ball, they’re being encouraged to embrace the sport in all it’s meaning.

At La Manga Club, The Lee Westwood Junior Academy runs during the summer months and is intended to help promising young golfers learn what it takes to make a real and tangible success of the sport. Split into two age groups, the instruction is offered over a 5 day period for a couple of hours a day. The kids lucky enough to undertake this experience are led by the guiding hand of a specially selected Lee Westwood Academy coach. A great opportunity for anyone with either only a slight interest or with a passion for the sport, you don’t even need your own clubs to enjoy the experience. Clubs will be supplied to juniors who don’t bring their own, alongside up to the minute motivation and coaching.

So, if you have a budding Tiger Woods or Lee Westwood in your household, why not give them the opportunity of a lifetime at La Manga Club? It’s an experience that’ll be remembered for years to come by anyone with even the tiniest passion for the little white ball.
