 Located in the south-east of Spain, the popular region of Murcia basks in sunshine for more than 3,000 hours a year, making it the perfect destination for players looking to jet abroad this summer.
The area is easily accessible from the UK, with a number of budget airlines offering regular flights to Murcia and Alicante.
Some of the carriers currently operating flights to this part of Spain include easyJet, Ryanair and bmibaby.
One place that attracts thousands of players every year is La Peraleja Golf Resort, which can be found near the town of Sucina Quileses.
The club is home to an 18-hole par-72 course designed by golf legend Seve Ballesteros, who has used his experience as a top level player to help create more than 30 courses worldwide.
Although testing, the stunning course caters for players of all abilities. Players will find gently undulating land, as well as a number of strategically placed obstacles and water features.
Ballesteros designed the course in harmony with the landscape that surrounds it and in a way that makes the most of existing water supplies. The trees and shrubs that decorate the green were all specially chosen due to the lack of water they require.
As well as the impressive course, the resort is home to a range of practice facilities, including a chipping green, driving range, putting green and bunkers.
The modern and impressive clubhouse offers changing rooms, lockers and a bag store, in addition to golf buggy and trolley rental services.
It is the perfect place to head for a post-game drink or a bite to eat. The clubhouse is home to a restaurant offering views over the golf course, as well as a cafe bar and piano bar.
The resort also features a pro shop where golfers will find clothing, shoes, accessories and footwear.
Players hoping to brush up on their skills while on holiday in Spain will find tuition on offer at La Peraleja's golf academy. A range of courses are available, as well as one-to-one lessons, with players of all ages and abilities catered for.
Tee times can be pre-booked by calling the resort or visiting its website.
As well as La Peraleja, players will find a host of other great courses to enjoy in Murcia, such as the one at La Torre Resort.
The 18-hole par-68 course forms part of the Jack Nicklaus golf trail and is spread across five acres of lush green land.
A demanding course, it features a number of elaborately sculpted bunkers, as well as impressive lakes and sand hazards.
Players can also sign up for courses and tuition, which last between four and five days.
The Initiation Programme is a great option for people keen to learn the basics of golf, while keen golfers are likely to benefit from the Advanced Programme, which is designed for people with some experience on the course.
Like La Peraleja, La Torre is also home to a large clubhouse, where players will find rental services, changing facilities and a well-stocked shop.
There are also several places to enjoy a drink or spot of lunch, including Wood House Bar, which features a spacious outdoor terrace and serves snacks daily from 7:30 until 19:00.
For a more substantial meal, visitors can head to La Encina Buffet Restaurant, which boasts an impressive show kitchen and offers a range of tasty meat dishes and fresh seafood, as well as a large selection of cakes and pastries for those with a sweet tooth.
