La Manga Club nominated for awards

If you’re thinking of visiting La Manga Club for the first time, you might well be seeking reassurance that you’re making the right decision. Although tennis players and non tennis players alike, go back year after year, and the quality of the facilities speak for themselves, there’s no getting away from the fact that the awards that this resort has won, pretty much left, right and centre, may just be the reassurance you’re looking for.

While awards in themselves are never a good reason to choose a resort, the number and standard of the awards won and nominated for by La Manga Club in recent years are evidence that this resort is right up there with the very best. While many of La Manga’s awards are golf related, there’s no getting away from the fact that the world’s golfing community are a discerning bunch and a resort that ticks every box on their list is highly likely to please the majority of tennis players too.

Outside of golf awards, being a finalist in the World Luxury Hotel Awards in 2009 is particularly notable. What’s more, the recommendation as one of the best family friendly resorts in Europe in the Sunday Times Travel Mag Readers’ awards in 2011 is not something you should take lightly. Resorts and hotels don’t get recommended for such lists and such awards unless they have something seriously different and interesting to offer. As anyone who’s already visited La Manga Club will tell you, there is no doubt that this resort is a serious contender for pretty much any quality and service award going.

Here are just some of the awards that we think are worthy of note:

* Nominee: Best Golf Resort: Spain - Today's Golfer Travel Awards 2013
* Best Conference Hotel: Spain - The Annual MICE Report Awards 2012
* Best Golf Resort: Spain - Today's Golfer Travel Awards 2011 & 2012
* Recommended Best Family-Friendly European Resort - The Sunday Times Travel Magazine Readers' Awards 2011
* Best Overseas Conference Hotel: Silver - C&IT Hot List 2010
* Nominee: Europe’s Leading Golf Resort and Europe’s Leading Golf & Leisure Resort - World Travel Awards 2010
* Finalist: World Luxury Hotel Awards 2009
* Nominee: World’s Leading Sports Resort - World Travel Awards 2007 & 2008
* Q Plus Certification for golf course excellence 2007
* Spain's Leading Golf Resort - World Travel Awards 2006
* Europe's Leading Golf Resort - World Travel Awards 2001, 2003 and 2005
* Europe's Leading Conference Hotel - World Travel Awards 2003
* European Golf Resort of the Year - Hertz International Golf Travel Awards 1999
* Hotel La Manga Club Príncipe Felipe - 'Q for Quality' accreditation since 2002
* Region of Murcia Restaurant of the Year 2003 - Ismael Galiano (restaurant critic), Amapola Restaurant

Now that is a pretty impressive list, you must admit, but one of the more significant jewels in the La Manga Club crown is the loyal holiday makers who book this resort year-in and year-out. Why do they do so? There’s no doubt that they do so for the quality and variety of the sporting facilities they have right on their doorstep; but they also do so because they can eat and drink like royalty while they’re on site and there are plenty offsite options only a stone’s throw away. Add to this, the fact that sports fans can come to the resort accompanied by people who have no interest in sport whatsoever and they both know that they’ll get something great from their holiday here. What’s more, families come here because there’s great things for mum and dad to do, but the kids have their own sport academies and kids clubs to keep them interested, so everyone’s happy.

So, in a nutshell, yes, La Manga Club has won and has been nominated for a whole host of awards in its time, but the greatest and most significant is probably the award granted by the loyal followers who come back year after year. It’s these people who really award the resort with its gold star because they know that they’re going to have a great time and get great value for money here.

If you’re in the throws of planning your next tennis holiday and have put La Manga Club on your shortlist, hopefully these awards and accolades will reassure you, but if you still need to find out more, why not get in touch with our friendly staff today? We’re here to help you make sure that La Manga Club is the right place for your next tennis holiday.
