Located in the south-east of Spain, Murcia enjoys warm temperatures all year round and is widely considered to be one of Europe's top golf destinations.
Holidaymakers are spoilt for choice when it comes to resorts and courses, with dozens to choose from.
For the ultimate experience, golf enthusiasts may wish to consider taking a break at La Manga Club, which boasts a wide range of exceptional sports and leisure facilities.
It has scooped dozens of awards in recognition of its facilities over the years and has been named as Europe's leading golf resort on three occasions.
Additionally, La Manga was crowned Spain's leading resort at the 2006 World Travel Awards and was nominated as one of the world's leading sports destinations in 2007 and 2008.
As well as scooping countless prizes, it has also played host to a number of international tournaments, including the Spanish Open, PGA Championships, Senior Spanish Open and several celebrity golf events.
There are three championship courses to enjoy here, with each one boasting its own unique features.
The resort caters for players of all ages and abilities, with something on offer to suit everyone.
Guests will find a range of practice facilities to make use of during their stay, such as the 80-bay floodlit driving range, chipping greens and putting area.
Inside the resort's clubhouse players will find a large pro shop that is stocked with a large selection of clubs, accessories and clothing.
Some of the golf wear brands guests will find there include Ashworth, Cutter & Buck, Burberry Golf, Callaway, Lacoste, Marie Valois, Glenmuir, Lyle & Scott and Resort 2.
Players can also take advantage of La Manga's official Callaway fitting centre and be measured up for a personalised set of clubs.
As most golf enthusiasts will no doubt agree, no game is complete without a refreshing drink at the end and guests will find a number of venues to explore within the clubhouse.
Located upstairs, Bar 37 is the quintessential golfers' bar. Decorated in an elegant colonial style, it offers superb views over the course and is the ideal spot for a post-game tipple or a bite to eat.
Meanwhile, those who fancy an al fresco lunch after their round of golf can head to the West Clubhouse, which features a spacious terrace.
Another popular destination for guests visiting the Murcia region is La Torre Resort.
It boasts an 18-hole, par-68 course spread across five hectares, which features a number of sculpted bunkers and lakes.
The resort caters for players of all abilities by incorporating colour-coded tees.
Like La Manga Club, guests staying at La Torre can also improve their skills by booking one-to-one tuition or taking part in an intensive golf course that covers every aspect of the game.
Elsewhere, the Mar Menor Resort also boasts a range of excellent sports and leisure features.
The course there forms part of the renowned Jack Nicklaus Golf Trail and is designed to an exceptionally high standard.
Players will find soft contours, as well as good recovery areas and wide bunkers, making it an excellent choice for both advanced players and beginners.
Additionally, La Torre is also home to a golf pro shop, which stocks a selection of clothing and equipment, as well as a putting green, a buggy rental service and a number of bars and restaurants.
