No matter whether you have plumped for 5 star luxury at Hotel Principe Felipe or a self-catering option, El Bistro at La Manga Club is a fun place to hang out, no matter the time of day, open from 9.30am until late 7 days a week in high season (low season times may vary), El Bistro is situated in the Plaza Mayor in Bellaluz village at La Manga Club. With great indoor and outdoor spaces, it is easy to see why this Spanish bistro, with an international twist is so popular.
If you are staying in the hotel on a bed and breakfast basis, you may even be tempted away one of the days to enjoy a full English or a continental breakfast at El Bistro, simply to soak up the atmosphere. Alternatively, if you have opted for self-catering accommodation at La Manga Club, you could quite easily make breakfast at El Bistro a daily affair. Although you can easily get all your breakfast supplies on site so you can make breakfast in your apartment or town house, it really is part of the holiday to be able to enjoy breakfast, made by someone else, under the Spanish sun (isn’t it?).
All of that said, if you’ve been up at the crack of dawn and have already had a pre-match breakfast either at the hotel or in your accommodation, followed by 18 holes, why not make El Bistro your 19th hole for a post-match analysis accompanied by a coffee and a pastry? No matter which choice you make, you can be certain that at El Bistro you’ll be welcomed with a smile and served quickly but always with a bit of banter.
With a range of tables set outside on the plaza, the square really becomes the hub of El Bistro in high season. Occasionally offering entertainment but always offering great food at very reasonable prices, El Bistro has a real buzzy atmosphere. With shade offered by the range of parasols, you’ll be able to feel the heat of the sun for sure, but will be comfortable to enjoy your meal or snack at the same time. Off-season, or during (unlikely) inclement weather, there’s an attractive indoor dining room, but to be honest, El Bistro is definitely at its best when you can sit outside and enjoy the atmosphere. That said, it’s well worth bearing in mind that due to the popularity of El Bistro, the square can get quite lively from time to time, so it’s not the place to go if you’re seeking calm and solitude!
Offering breakfasts and snacks in the morning, El Bistro sometimes closes after lunch and then reopens at 7 for dinner. When it comes to lunch and dinner, El Bistro offers a fixed menu at a very reasonable price, as well as a kids’ menu, which is enough to keep the whole family happy. There’s one thing for sure, the international flavour of the food at El Bistro won’t disappoint. And with simple, as well as imaginative cuisine on offer, even the fussiest of eaters will find something on the El Bistro menu to please. So, either as a one-off for an evening or as a regular hang for coffee and a snack, El Bistro simply has to be on your list of “things to do” at La Manga.
