Been on holiday and feeling depressed about going back to work? Start booking your next Spanish holiday now if you want to beat the post-vacation blues, celebrity psychologist Donna Dawson suggests.
More than two in three British holidaymakers feel sad or miserable when they get back from a trip abroad, according to research conducted by Birmingham International Airport.
Around one in eight admitted to making an excuse to gain a few extra hours in bed, while a further one in sixteen said they called in sick and skipped work altogether, all within a fortnight of returning home from their holidays.
But booking early can beat the blues, says Donna Dawson, a psychologist who has appeared as guest consultant on TV shows such as 'This Morning', 'The Richard and Judy Show' and 'Sky News'
"Booking your holiday early... gives you something positive to look forward too," Ms Dawson advised.
"By booking something you can visualise something positive... We inevitably feel that post holiday slump, the good times are over, we have to go back to work and we have to be careful with money - but we need to focus on the ability to do that again," she continued.
"If you say to yourself: 'I can repeat that experience, I can work towards it and it gives me an incentive.' We all need an incentive to work for. It helps you to save and plan your money. You know that you're working and there is a reward at the end of it."
Why not give yourself something spectacular to look forward to and book yourself a holiday at the luxury resort of La Manga? With three world class golf couses, a range of spa and leisure facilities and an exclusive range of some of the most sumptuous accommodation in Spain, a stay at La Manga is sure to keep the blues at bay.
