I am Alfie and am exactly 7 and a half years old and am on holiday at La Manga Club with my mum, my dad and my gran and granddad, ee have been here three times already and I just love it. In fact, I think we all do. I do not have any brothers or sisters, but at La Manga, there is tons of kids around for me to play with. Mum says it so so safe, I can even go down to the football academy on my own on my bike. That makes me feel so grown up. She wouldd never let me do that at home.
Football academy is on from Monday to Friday, a bit like school, but a whole lot better. Dad says my football has come on leaps and bounds since we arrived a week ago. We only have a week left, but thereís still tons of stuff left to do. Iím booked to go to football academy again next week, but today itís Sunday. Although itís Sunday, I think they should call it Funday at La Manga, in fact here; they should call every day Funday!
This morning, weíre all going out biking together after breakfast. I canít imagine gran on a bike, but she tells me she can go even faster than me. Weíll have to see! I canít wait for us all to go out together on the bikes. Iíve been biking with dad before, just the two of us, but never with mum and the others. Itíll be great fun. When we come back, dad and granddad are making Sunday lunch. Thatís a first too, but it is a barbecue, so it should be all right. Mum is happy because sheís going with gran for some kind of beauty thing at the Spa while dad and granddad are preparing everything for the big lunch. Iíll keep an eye on them, so theyíll be OK!
In the meantime, let me tell you about my plans for this afternoon. The football academy has organised a friendly match competition, so Iím playing in that. Iím playing my favourite position, centre, and everyone is coming to watch me. I hope we win, but as Jim, our coach says, itís not about winning, so again, weíll have to see. When the footballís finished, weíre all heading to the pool, where thereís always something going on and Iím going to join in with one of the kids groups where weíre looked after by one of the team. Today theyíre going to let us go climbing on the climbing wall. Then theyíll organise games and we can kind of hang out with other kids. Itís great. Iíve met my new best friend Robbie. I just know when we get home weíll stay in touch.
Tonight weíre going to Uncle Samís restaurant. Even though weíre having a barbecue at lunchtime, I know Iím going to have one of their burgers. They are so delicious and the waitress always gives me a really big smile and makes me feel special.
Anyway, better go for now, thereís so much to do at La Manga Club that every day is just packed with fun and friends. Itís fab.
