Tenerife Golf Courses
Golf is now blooming in Tenerife, with six courses currently open and several are still to make their presence. Tenerife is becoming one of the most popular golfing destinations and the ultimate choice for golfing holidays, due to its warm climate, accessibility & the majority of its courses are within close proximity of the major holiday resorts.
Tenerife offers a wide range of high quality golf courses, all open to the public. Some of which are:
Abama: This five-star Tenerife golf resort, in the southwest of the island, attracts visitors for its winding, tactical, 18-hole that overlooks the Atlantic Ocean. It has 6,857 meters of fairways and greens and bunkers of marble sand. It is suitable for all levels of players. Abama Gran Hotel, Golf Resort and Spa offer restaurants, tennis courts and spa facilities. There is a golf shop, three-hole practice course, and golf school.
With the most exotic views, of palm trees, deserts and tropical species and a layout that can be enjoyed by players of all levels, Abama is a spectacular place to play golf in Tenerife.
Amarilla: Located on the southern coast of Tenerife, and part of the Amarilla Golf and Country Club, Amarilla is a 6,077-metre course near the airport. This is a popular 18-hole, Par 72 golf course in Tenerife set in a dramatic mountain and coastal landscape. Amarilla is a dramatic place to play golf in Tenerife.
Amarilla has green lining and driving range, as well as a 9-hole pitch and putt area. They provide pro shop, hires trolleys, buggies, and clubs. There is a clubhouse with a pool and tennis courts, and an equestrian centre.
Buenavista: Buenavista course is situated in the rugged Teno mountain range, to the north west of Tenerife. It has 18-holes, with Par 72 and 6,090 metres coverage area, with some holes close to the rocky Atlantic coastline. It is a combination of tough playing conditions and pleasant ocean views. This is one of the classic golf courses in Tenerife. The course has two putting greens, practice and chipping areas, and a golf school. The clubhouse has a bar and restaurant, with its terraces overlooking the ocean.
Golf Costa Adeje: This Tenerife golf course is just 5 km from the resort of Playa de Las Americas, hosted the 2003 Spanish Open. Its 27 holes stretch from the mountains down to the sea. It has 18-holes, with Par 72, championship course complemented by the 9-hole, and Par 66 Las Lagos course. There is a three-level 45,000 square-metre driving range. The clubhouse has excellent catering facilities.
Golf Las Americas: The 6,039-metre, 18-hole, Par 72 Tenerife golf course, overlooks the sea, with its lakes, streams and waterfalls. The course has a practice putting green, a driving range, trolley, club and buggy hire, as well as changing rooms, a pro shop, and a golf school. The clubhouse has a bar and cafeteria.
