Tennis at La Manga Club in Spain. The tennis centre at La Manga Club is renown throughout Europe as one of the best of its kind. There are 29 tennis courts with all different types of tennis court surfaces available.
The tennis centre at La Manga is centrally located within the Club and is within a short walking distance of many of the accommodation communities at La Manga Club. La Manga also provides a courtesy shuttle bus which operates throughout the club including a direct service to the tennis centre if required. We would certainly recommend the luxury Los Olivos apartment community at La Manga as these are located closest to the tennis centre and within a few minutes walk to the tennis courts. Los Olivos also has the benefit of two outdoor swimming pools and a 20 metre indoor heated pool which make Los Olivos a perfect location for a tennis holiday all through the year.
The tennis coaches employed at La Manga Club are of the highest standard making the weekly tennis academy courses extremely popular all year round. Pre-booking of the La Manga tennis academy is highly recommended to avoid disappointment. The tennis academy courses cater for all ages and for tennis players of all abilities, from beginners through to advanced tennis players. The tennis academy course generally run in the mornings and private tennis lessons of 45 minutes per lesson can be arranged for more personal (maximum 2 people) and intense tennis coaching. The private tennis lessons are generally held in the afternoons.
Tennis competitions are held every day at La Manga Club and you will need to register your interest to play in the tennis competition with the tennis centre reception. Tennis equipment can be hired from the tennis club reception which also has a selection of tennis equipment and tennis clothing for sale as you enter the tennis reception area.
All tennis players should try to attend the tennis welcome reception which is held ever Sunday throughout the year at the La Manga tennis centre. It is usually held at about 3 or 4 pm every Sunday but please check with the tennis centre reception upon your arrival at La Manga Club to confirm the time of the meeting. The tennis welcome reception will give you a chance to meet the tennis coaches and all other players who will be playing tennis during the week at La Manga. There is also the chance to play some free tennis and where the tennis coaches will explain whats happening at the tennis centre that week.
There will also be an informal grading which will allow the tennis coaches to decide upon the groups for the tennis academy courses starting following day. There may well be some movement within the academy groups to ensure that all tennis players in each tennis academy group are playing with people of similar ability.
After a challenging morning or afternoon of tennis the Tie Break bar and restaurant caters for everyone. This facility is adjacent to the tennis club reception and with a sunny terrace you can relax overlooking some of the courts in action. For evening dining the tennis centre area is also home to the Mexican restaurant Andales.
