Spikes Bar at La Manga Club

The world famous Spikes Bar in La Manga has been fully refurbished and is back better than ever! However, don't go to Hyatt Hotel if you're looking for some top entertainment, as Spikes Bar has moved and is now enjoying its new home in La Plaza (to the right of Mulligans).

Spikes bar has been offering the best live music for almost ten years but faced an uncertain future in December 2006. The old management of Spikes decided to close the establishment, but knowing its popularity with holidaymakers at La Manga Club, a new management team took the opportunity to move the iconic establishment to its new refurbished home.

In its new location at La Plaza the venue now offers two bars and the entertainment has gone from strength to strength.

After a great day at La Manga Club, perhaps enjoying a round of golf, a few games of tennis or just relaxing by the pool, there are few better places to let your hair down in the evening than Spikes Live Music Bar.

The bar is open from 00:00 to 05:00 Wednesday to Saturday and from 01:00 on Friday and Saturday the fabulous La Saga take to the stage.

La Saga formed in 2001 and have since attracted a loyal following performing their own original material as well as a repertoire based on the great icons of Spanish pop-rock.The line-up of lead singer Angel-Rios, his brother Paco (drums), keyboardist Raudel and bassist Jose Miguel have acquired a vast repertoire of styles including soul, funky, jazz and rock from the 50s-60s.

In 2006 guitarist Antonio completed the formation and in April 2007 La Saga obtained a record deal with Warner to produce an album with the highly acclaimed Los Hobbie.

Complementing La Saga at Spikes are the famous themed parties. Already this year the bar has hosted hugely successful themed parties such as the Brugal Party, a Smirnoff Party, a night dedicated to the legendary Elvis Presley and a fiesta for the Romans and Carthagians in correlation to the parties in Cartagena.

Add to this chilled piano sessions, Salsa classes and many more fun events and it's easy to see why Spikes Bar is one of the most popular nightspots in the La Manga complex and a place that's set for a bright and exciting future in its new home.
