Fawzia Rasheed de Francisco, Rough Guide spokesperson was unsurprised that the larger companies beat low cost airlines such as easyJet in the child-friendly stakes.
"Aside from baggage restrictions, budget airlines tend to be allocated inconvenient gates in airports, involving walking long distances, negotiating stairs and buses etc - tough going with small children," she commented.
British Airways offers flights to Alicante and flights to Malaga among other destinations in Spain.
A host of new Spanish flight destinations from Leeds Bradford International Airport (LBIA) have been announced by Thomas Cook Holidays.
New routes to the Spanish holiday islands of Gran Canaria, Tenerife and Lanzarote are to be introduced from winter 2008/09 and will make it even easier for Yorkshire holidaymakers to go on luxury holidays to Spain.
Thomas Cook Holidays confirms that the flights can already be booked on its website and from any travel agent.
The new routes join other flights to Spain that the travel firm currently operate which include Costa Blanca, Costa del Sol, Costa Dorada, Fuerteventura, Ibiza, Majorca and Minorca.
Sally Ramsey, marketing and business development manager for LBIA, stated that Thomas Cook was one of the airport's key customers.
"We are delighted that they have introduced an additional winter sun programme from our airport, especially during this peak booking season," she added.
Meanwhile, Alpharooms.com has revealed that the Spanish Costas are likely to remain popular for British travellers in 2008.
In additiona to British Airways holidaymakers wishing to take flights to Spain and from the Spanish mainland to the Canary Islands will have more options after Spanair reaffirmed its commitment to the Canary Islands.
In what is a 17.4 per cent increase on passenger seats available in 2007, the airline is making nearly 3.5 million seats available to travellers who wish to journey between the two Spanish holiday destinations in 2008, Easier reports.
Islands to be affected by the announcements include Gran Canaria, which operates daily flights to Alicante, as well as Bilbao, Malaga and Santiago de Compostela.
Flights to Malaga and Alicante will continue from south Tenerife while flights to Madrid and Barcelona will continue through the winter season from Lanzarote.
The airline also offers flights to La Palma and Fuertaventura.
